HOW WE MET
"Alex and Peyton's journey began at the Cheeky Monkey Bar, where a friendship quickly formed through mutual friends. Over time, they became each other’s rock, offering unwavering support through life's ups and downs. As their bond deepened, they embarked on a transformative journey together, choosing a path of sobriety. Just one month into this new chapter, on September 25, 2023, they realized their connection was something even greater—they chose to take the next step and officially begin their relationship."
THE PROPOSAL
On November 12th 2024, Peyton, along with his mom, Elizabeth, and younger brother, Dylin, set out on what seemed like a simple holiday shopping trip to find a Christmas gift for his dad, Tracy. But behind the scenes, they were searching for the perfect engagement ring.
Weeks later, once the ring was ready, Elizabeth picked it up and kept it safe. Then, on December 5, 2024, after work, Peyton made a stop at his parents’ house to retrieve it. The moment he held it in his hands, there was no doubt—tonight was the night. After a few moments with his parents, he grabbed a few supplies from Walmart and rushed home, ready to set the stage for a moment that would change his and Alex’s lives forever.
Alone in their home, Peyton carefully prepared everything. He initially tried setting up cameras to capture the proposal, but after struggling to get them just right, he decided the moment was better without any distractions.
When everything was set, he called Alexandra over, casually mentioning he had a little gift for her—but nothing major. She wasn’t buying it.
In front of her sat a large, blue-wrapped box. Inside, another, smaller box—wrapped in duct tape and accompanied by a playful note: "Are you sure you want to open this?" Amused and curious, Alex tore through it, only to find yet another box, this time sealed with “Caution” tape and a warning scrawled in black Sharpie: "There’s no going back once this box is opened."
Her hands trembled as she peeled away the tape, opening the final box to reveal… a Sudoku book. Confused but intrigued, she flipped it open and found a handwritten note with directions. One page led to another, each containing a date and a message, guiding her through a puzzle only Peyton could have designed.
Finally, the last page. She read the words carefully, her heart pounding—then suddenly, she heard the same words spoken softly behind her.
Turning around, she found Peyton on one knee, holding a special unique ring designed after Alexandra’s great-grandmother Dorothy.
With eyes locked and emotions overflowing, he spoke the words that would forever change their story: "Alexandra Blair James… will you marry me?"
FUN FACTS:
October 27th - The wedding is being held on the Anniversaries of Alex’s Great Grandparents and also her Grandparents. Plus, the engagement ring is designed around her Great Grandmother's ring.
